Whenever you have breakfast, lunch or dinner, drink a glass of water instead of cold drink or juice or cream and sugar loaded coffee. Drink a glass of water after waking up in the morning. With every meal, have at least a glass of water. In a day, make a goal to have 8 glass of water. Have water throughout the day in office or in home. If its summer and hot , drink more. It’s calorie free and it helps you feel fuller and it keeps your brain, muscle hydrate.This is the best way to stay fit everyday

2.Move more and sit less

Just because you have a job and you do not have time for gym, does not mean you have to take it all in sitting down. You may not have time for an hour of workout, but something simple as standing for an hour burn 50 more calories.

Here are some ways to move more and sit less.Stand up when you are on phone or use a stand up desk at work. Take a short walk break twice a day. If the workplace is not so far, use walking to reach there. Use stairs, not elevators. Stand up and stretch for 2 minutes every hour..

Currently fitness bands are very popular which is very good to keep track on your diet, weight loss goal and monitoring calories.When you are mindful of what you are eating, you are more likely to make healthier food choices.

4.Sleep properly

If you are sleeping less than 7 hours, you are setting yourself up for problems like depression, fatigue and heart disease, stroke, high BP, early death. The sure problem you have is weight-gain.  When you are sleep deprived, changes in the hormones ghrelin and leptin occur which increase appetite and slow metabolism.

Create a dark and cool environment for sleeping and go to sleep at the same time everyday even on weekends. Don’t eat 2-3 hours before sleep and avoid drinks with caffeine in afternoon and evening. Turn of TV, computer, tab, phone before you sleep. If you are not feeling sleepy, read books or any readable until you are sleepy.

5.Eat healthy and make healthy food substitution

Try not to eat junk foods. Drink water instead juice or cold drink or coffee. Eat more fruits, whole grains, fish and lean meat and avoid processed food. Have an apple or guava everyday. Have yogurt, egg, oats in breakfast. If you drink milk, take skim or non-fat instead of whole milk.
